Frequently Asked Questions
Check out some of the more common questions we hear from parents.
What insurance do you accept?
Currently, CLDC is in-network with the following health plans: Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, and Aetna.
What happens after the initial speech and/or OT evaluation from CLDC?
After the evaluation, we meet to go over what we learned and answer any questions a parent may have to ensure everyone is on the same page. From there we create an individualized care plan for your child and determine when we’ll start our regular therapy sessions with your family.
Can I participate in the session with my child?
Yes! Parents are always welcome to join the session and participate with their loved one. In fact, we encourage it!
What do you recommend we do at home in between our therapy sessions?
After each session at CLDC, your therapist will provide a quick overview of what happened and will make suggestions for what you can practice and reinforce at home.
I’ve heard the term pragmatics getting used about my child. What does it mean?
Pragmatics is a frequently used speech term that refers to how language is used for social reasons. Sometimes it's confused with social skills, but it’s more about the intent and context behind our use of language.
For example, a child might wonder why we look at each other while speaking to one another and it’s to get information as we’re checking in with another person.
